Thinking Inside the box
The idea for this box came about after I gave a quote to a company to do something similar, but in the end the client opted for the visual language of another illustrator. It happens :)
But my excitement didn't stop at the budget. The proposal was already in my head, so I decided to buy a panettone box and play around with the theme.
The box was dismantled and I assembled it upside down.
Illustration process and video
The process of making a box like this goes far beyond the illustration itself.
First comes the idea, the imagination of how things would look on the support, the search for image references and only then does the box begin to receive its first illustration strokes in pencil.
Once that's done, comes the coolest part, which is the pen line. Everything starts to appear and the result is beautiful, but this time I decided to make a stop-motion video of the drawing, so it took twice as long. With each stroke, I stopped to take photos. Not to mention planning the lighting for the photos, setting up the tripod, that sort of thing.
